Mullein is best known as a respiratory tonic. The leaves and flowers activate lymph circulation in the neck & chest. Mullein tones and soothes the mucous membranes, reduces inflammation & encourages healthy fluid production in the lungs. An expectorant, aids the lungs in expelling mucous and phlegm by loosening it from the walls of the lungs and allowing it to be coughed up, mullein will stimulate coughing, even though that’s the symptom being treated. What mullein is really doing is assisting the body’s natural response to congestion by the coughing being more effective.
Mullein is a very gentle herb. Great for people with asthma, smokers cough, hay fever, emphysema, colds, flu, hoarseness, bronchitis, whooping cough, congestion of the lungs.
To use, shake well, use ¼ of a dropper 4-5 times a day, drink in orange, tea, or water.
